Hello, I Am
Sarisha Lekhi
For me, art is a vital means of maintaining my sanity in an increasingly fast-paced world, be it creating or experiencing art. My paintings are deeply personal, often inspired by my own experiences and observations of human behavior, emotions, and conflicts. I like to incorporate symbolism in every aspect of my work, from the background colors to the smallest details. I often draw inspiration from Fauvism, using bold colors and simple forms to evoke raw emotion. Acrylics are my primary medium, allowing me to build layers and different textures.
Art has always been a part of my life, but due to certain circumstances, I could never pursue a formal art degree. Instead, I studied engineering. My goal is for viewers to feel something profound when they engage with my work rather than admiring it solely for its aesthetics. As Marcel Duchamp said, “Creativity is not performed by the artist alone, the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world, by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications, thus adding his contribution to the creative act.” Through my art, I would like to invite others to find their own meaning and connection and to feel a stream of emotions.
